Major Programmes :
The Institute is offering education and training in the areas of Cooperative & Rural Development, Management & Computer Application by its two wings.
- Center for Management Development
- Training Center for Long Term Coop. Credit Structure ( JLTC )
- Centre for Govt. Diploma in Cooperation & Accountancy
The center is fulfilling the emerging need of training by offering various training programmes. More than 70 to 80 short term training programmes for the officials of different cooperative institutions (including State/ District Central Cooperative Banks & PACS) are conducted by this center and more than 2500 officials are participating every year are getting benefit of such programmes.
From the academic year 2014-15, the Institute has started Junior Level Training Center to impart training programmes for Long Term Coop. Credit Structure (The Gujarat State Agriculture & Rural Development Bank), with the help of NABARD
The Institute is recognized by Gov. of Gujarat as a center for conducting examination & contact classes for Govt. Diploma in Cooperation & Accountancy (GDC & A)
Management Development Programmes :
For the purpose of capacity building & human resource development various training programmes for different cooperative organizations are conducted by this department. For this purpose training programmes are conducted in four models as under:
- 1.On campus by inviting participants at the campus in Gandhinagar with residential accommodation
- Special programmes – designed as per the requirements of sponsoring organization
- On location at different places as required by client organizations
- Over and above the short duration course, the Institute also holds one day conferences/workshops.
A “Center for Professional Excellence in Cooperatives” (C-PEC) established at Bankers’ Institute of Rural Development, Lucknow by NABARD), to improve the standard of cooperative training Institutes. This center is giving rating to the different cooperative training Institutes on the basis of the professionalism adopted and available infrastructural facilities. Our Institute has also received the accreditation from C-PEC.
Special Programmes :
Apart from organizing training programmes for the officers and executives of cooperative organizations, Institute is organizing training programmes for board members of cooperative banks and societies, Auditors, District Registrars of Cooperative Department and for board of nominees on periodical basis. The Institute conducts one day study course programmes for chartered accountants who are to undertake statutory or concurrent audit of cooperative banks & societies.
On Location Programmes :
Besides arranging on campus training programmes, Institute organizes on location training programmes as per the requirement of client organizations. Such programmes are organized for one day and more than one day also.
Knowledge Partner of Gov. of Gujarat :
The Institute has done MoU with Gov. of Gujarat as a knowledge partner and organizing training programmes in the area of Rural Development.
Calendar Programmes for the year 2014-15 :
Global changes have also affected cooperative sector and in order to prepare cooperative institutions in facing these changes, the N.I.C.M. conducts various training programmes every year. On similar lines, planning for different training programmes for the year 2016-17 is finalised as listed in this section.
Activities of Consultancy and Expert Services :
Cooperative banks and other organizations need consultancy assistance in their day to day operational areas, legal areas, matters relating to personnel management such as recruitment, promotions and deployment of staff etc.
To provide help for these purposes Institute provides consultancy services.
The Institute undertakes providing consultancy services in different forms such as:
A) By reference in writing
B) On line wherever some problematic situation arises.
The NICM publishes tri monthly magazine titled “NICM Bulletin” for providing information and knowledge about management , business strategy, policy initiatives, technology up gradation and latest development in cooperative sector to the office bearers and officials of cooperative organizations by means of better quality articles.
Infrastructural Facilities :
- Library :
Library of the Institute contains more than 35000 books on various subjects e. g. agriculture, economics, management, marketing, law, finance, human resource etc. the Institutes subscribe more than 200 International and National magazines. This helps faculty members, students, trainees and research scholars in acquiring updated knowledge and developing consultancy skill. Institute is also having a separate Reading room which provides peaceful environment to readers.
- Classrooms :
The Organization is fully furnished with educational equipments such as LCD Projectors, Overhead Projectors, film projectors, T.V., D.V.D., in 2 Air-conditioned seminar hall and 9 modern class rooms providing comfortable and best environment for educational studies as well as peaceful teaching process.
- Hostel :
The Institution provides for independent, Executive hostel facility for almost 100 trainees to cater the needs of the organization and its management development programme trainees. The facility consists of independent suits, conference room, dining hall and recreational facilities. The organization provides for separate hostel for gents and ladies.
- Computer Center :
The Institute is having 9 modern computer laboratories with LAN 90 nodes/ terminals with latest software to provide the computer education and training to the students and participants.
- Sports Facilities :
The Institute has made available the recreation facilities including both indoor as well as outdoor games like, table tennis, cricket, basketball, handball, football etc. with spawns grounds for all the games.
